Noise Control of Nanjing Jiangsu Grand Theater

Opera House
There are 2200 seats in the opera hall, mainly for large-scale performances such as opera and dance. The stage is in the shape of a “pin”, with a width of 18 meters and a height of 12 meters at the entrance. The stage axis is 75.6 meters wide and has a vertical depth of 48 meters. The main stage is equipped with an elevating platform, with car platforms on the left and right, and a car mounted turntable on the rear stage. An 18 x 18 meter ballet stage is set up in the stage compartment, with a total of 110 suspension

rods on the stage.
The acoustic requirements of the building are fully considered in the hall, and the mid frequency reverberation in the open space is 1.6 seconds. The facilities are sufficient to meet the performance needs of global dramas.

Theater Hall
The theater has 1000 seats and mainly performs traditional Chinese opera, plays, and more. A theater hall is a theater with distinctive ethnic characteristics. Its stage has a complete function of rising, falling, and turning, and can quickly switch scenery. The main stage is a drum type turntable with a diameter of 18 meters, equipped with three sets of double-layer lifting platforms, which can be lifted as a whole or individually, allowing various theatrical performances to be perfectly presented.

The important technical indicators of theater construction are acoustic and sound insulation effects. In this regard, the construction party of Jiangsu Grand Theater, China Construction Eighth Bureau, has organized excellent acoustic units (Nanjing Hongrun Acoustics) and acoustic testing units that integrate acoustic consultants, acoustic design, and acoustic construction at home and abroad to test the high, medium, and low frequency sound insulation performance of different materials, and then develop solutions based on experimental results.

The design of sound insulation and vibration reduction schemes is extremely important, not only considering the transmission of vibration and noise from the tens of thousands of equipment in the grand theater, but also considering the transmission of noise from the audience’s walking and other external factors.
